ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad chapter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Wednesday organised a protest rally in front of the National Press Club to condemn the carnage Kashmiris are suffering at the hands of the Indian army in Indian Kashmir.

The rally was led by Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, PM’s Special Assistant on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani and Minister of State for CDA Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. Addressing the rally, Rashid said “a black day was being observed on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to condemn and highlight the genocide of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian occupation forces deployed in Kashmir.” He said that Kashmiris have been facing Indian excesses for several decades but recently a new wave of Indian atrocities has martyred countless youth only because they were demanding their right of self-determination as promised by the United Nations.

Rashid said the martyred Kashmiris had committed no crime. He said India claims to be the largest democracy in the world but the voice of innocent Kashmiris was being stifled in this democracy.

“The purpose of observing this black day was to awaken the world conscience from its slumber and highlight the Indian atrocities.”
