In an unusual move, people in Belarus are getting undressed in their workplaces and posting pictures on Instagram.

Naked selfies at work have gone viral after Belarussian President Aleksandr Lukashenko accidentally urged citizens “to get undressed and work till you sweat”.

Addressing the ‘all-Belarusian peoples gathering’ in June, Lukashenko said, “You know what to do, how to do it, and what goals to achieve. Everything is simple. Innovations, IT technology, privatisations, etc – it’s all clear, we’ve done it.”

“But all our life is in simple things: we should get [undressed] and work.”

What he actually meant to say was “develop and work," instead of get undressed and work. But since the words ‘razviVAtsa’ and ‘razDEvatsa’ sound very similar, this confusing comment led Belarusians to start the hashtag #getnakedandgotowork.
