SWABI: A man was gunned down in Marghuz, Swabi on Thursday.

A police official told The Express Tribune Amir Nadeem had an argument with Gohar Rehman, Shamsur Rehman and Attaur Rehman.

When the dispute escalated, Gohar and his friends opened fire on Nadeem, killing him on the spot.

“However, the accused managed to flee the site,” he said. The police have registered a case against the incident and started investigation.

Separately, Swabi police seized a large cache of hashish in two during two search operations in Gadoon. According to a police official, a shop was raided and 1,035 grammes of hashish were confiscated. The police arrested Wazir Rehman.

In another raid, the police arrested Bilal and Irfan and seized 20 kilogrammes of hashish from their possession.

Child rescued

A four-year-old boy was rescued from a group of kidnappers within the jurisdiction of Zaida police station.

A police official told The Express Tribune the child was kidnapped a few days ago. Swabi DPO Javaid Iqbal Khan took notice of the incident and constituted a team under the supervision of Swabi DSP Izhar Shah Khan.

“The team raided a hideout and rescued the four-year-old boy,” he said. “The police arrested the kidnappers. They have been identified as Rehman Ali, Anwarullah and Meherban Shah.” An FIR has been registered against them.

Mystery solved

The police have arrested a husband for killing his wife in Jahangira.

According to the police, Ameena was murdered at her house a few days ago. Initial investigation revealed that Sabir Ali, her husband, was injured while trying to protect his wife. However, the police later discovered Sabir had orchestrated the murdered. Sabir confessed to committing the crime and was taken into custody.
