The circular has been sent to health executive district officers, vice chancellors of medical universities, principals of autonomous medical institutions and superintendents of all the teaching hospitals. It says that the decision to keep dialysis facilities open during Eid holidays was taken on directions of the chief minister. In this regard, the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education prepared a contingency plan to ensure healthcare facilities to patients of renal failure. The circular also includes directions to ensure uninterrupted medical cover to general patients at public hospitals.
They have been told to prepare a duty roster of doctors, nurses and other staff to perform duties at dialysis centres and wards. Signboards indicating round-the-clock provision of dialysis services during Eid holidays are to be displayed at prominent places on hospital premises.
