PESHAWAR: An enquiry report was submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Provincial Election Commission regarding a dispute in the party’s women wing on Saturday. As per the report, Noreen Ibrahim’s appointment as women wing president has been upheld.

This was stated in a letter sent to the Provincial Election Coordinator Zafarullah Khan.

The chief election commissioner discussed the matter. He said neither Noreen Ibrahim nor Naseem Hayat were elected as provincial presidents of PTI’s women wing as no intra-party elections for the seat were held in 2013. The letter added the central executive committee had not approved any by-law for PTI’s women wing.

The commission decided to return Hayat’s complaints without any prejudice. “Moreover, she is at liberty to file a new case before the provincial election commissioner,” the letter stated. “Until then, Noreen Ibrahim’s notification as the women wing’s president, as decided by the Central Women Wing’s President, shall remain enacted and enforced.”
