“We brought this initiative to Karachi for the first time and our only cause is to promote happiness and eradicate the existing negativity in the city,” said Ayesha Ghaffar, one of the organisers.
Many of the participants in the parade comprised of young residents of the city with their even younger siblings. Mark Raheel, a differently-abled 11-year-old, was also participating in the walk. He said he loves to blow bubbles, as it gives him a sense of happiness. Ajlaan, Hamna and Zain were a trio of friends who walked in the parade, dressed in colourful outfits, with great big smiles wreathing their faces. According to Ajlaan, the event was a great initiative that brought them together. His friend Hamna said, “We are just happy to be happy, we don’t need a reason to be happy”.
