Zarb-e-Azb veterans: Gen Raheel visits war injured

At present 56 injured were under treatment in the AFIO, of them 30 have lost their both eyes

RAWALPINDI:  

Chief of Army Staff, (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday visited Armed Forces Institute of Ophthalmology (AFIO) and met wounded warriors of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. "We never give up and never quit", he said interacting with war heroes, an ISPR news release stated. Till date a total of 179 soldiers have lost their complete or partial eyesight due to Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasts. At present 56 injured were under treatment in the AFIO, of them 30 have lost their both eyes. COAS spent time with them and inquired about their wellbeing. During his visit to AFIO, COAS was given a detailed briefing on pilot project of state of the art Visual Rehabilitation Center for visually disabled soldiers which includes computer, IT laboratory, Braille, vocational and recreational facilities.

Ishrat salim | 7 years ago | Reply Although the PM is the supreme commander , he never visits these veterans to give them moral support. He seem busy only to protect his chair, plugging leaks.
Adnan Siddiqui | 7 years ago | Reply Can we at least see pictures of those soldiers who are wounded? We have been told that thousands upon thousands of "terrorists" have been eliminated. But we have seen absolutely nothing. At least this we wish to see.
