Campus Event: Poetic symposium held at UET

Deans, teachers, and a large number of students were also present

LAHORE: Eminent poets from across the country presented their work at a Mehfil-i-Mushaira held at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on Saturday. According to a press statement, the 30th All Pakistan Mehfil-i-Mushaira had been organised by the UET Literary Society at the auditorium complex. Anwar Masood, Amjad Islam Amjad, Shaheen Abbas, Hameeda Shaheen, Abbas Tabish and Ali Zariyoon participated in the event. UET Vice Chancellor Fazal Ahmad Khalid was the chief guest. Deans, teachers, and a large number of students were also present. Khalid said that poetry represented the link between the external world and human emotions. “It is probably the most convincing and persuasive linguistic tool. It is the core element of any culture,” he said. He said that poetry was a representative of a nation and its aspirations.
