Worldwide event: Autism awareness events to be held
An event will also be organised by the Health and Nutrition Development Society

World Autism Awareness Day will be observed on April 2 all over the world, including Pakistan, to increase people’s awareness about this mental condition. The day will feature educational events for teachers, healthcare workers and parents, as well as exhibitions showcasing work created by autistic children. Assistant professor of the department of neurosurgery, Liquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Dr Riaz Ahmed Raja said on Monday that the day is a global event involving the collective efforts of communities and governments. He said autism is a developmental disability that remains with a person for their entire life. An event will also be organised by the Health and Nutrition Development Society, a non-government organisation, at District Council Hall in Sukkur.
