Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will feature at the United Nations on March 23 to mark Pakistan's national day.

The “Sufi Night: Music of Peace” concert will be organised at the UN General Assembly hall under the theme of global peace and harmony, with the renowned singer presenting his world famous songs.

After 7-year hiatus, nation witnesses Pakistan Day parade

The event is expected to draw crowds in addition to diplomats, UN and Pakistani officials and representatives of civil society and media. It is being organised under the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“The concert is an effort to project Pakistan's soft image and present its culture. Public diplomacy is the most effective way to win hearts and minds and this [event] aims to do just that,” said Pakistan's Ambassador to UN, Dr Maleeha Lodhi.
