In Rahul Dholakia's crime-drama Raees, the pair will sizzle to none other than the 1980 Bollywood movie, Qurbani's hit Laila O Laila which featured Feroz Khan and Zeenat Aman.
Raees producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, who happen to be fans of the classic, acquired the rights to the Amit Kumar-Kanchan song which they will re-record with faster beats.
"Raees is set in the '80s and there was need of a song sequence. The makers unanimously selected Laila O Laila which perfectly fits with the dark, gangster theme and period. It was suggested to Shah Rukh and it was his idea to get Sunny on board. A lavish set is being created in Mumbai and rehearsals are on in full swing," a source privy to the development revealed.
The makers are planning a similar club set-up as seen in the original 1980 film with Sunny donning a white, sequinned gown and feathery headgear as she woos Shah Rukh's bootlegger character, Raees Khan. Although Sunny will be in the classic dance number trying to catch his attention, Khan's real ladylove in the movie will be played by Pakistani actor, Mahira Khan.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Sunny will begin shooting for Raees next month, on a two-day schedule.

She has also become a brand ambassador for the Government of India's No Smoking campaign alongside Deepak Dobriyal, and has been invited to a private luncheon by Aamir Khan who welcomed her on the sets of his upcoming wrestling-biopic, Dangal.
