ISLAMABAD: Hearing of the Ghazi murder case was postponed after the judge of a local court went on leave on Saturday.

The case against former president Pervez Musharraf was to be heard by additional sessions judge Pervaiz Qadir Memon on Saturday however, the hearing was postponed after the judge went on leave. The case will now be heard on the February 13.

Memon is the fourth judge to be hearing the case ever since the case was brought before the court in 2013.

Earlier, citing personal reasons, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani had distanced himself from hearing the case against Musharraf over his alleged involvement in the murder of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed during the Lal Masjid military operation in July 2007.

The case was sent back to Additional District and Sessions Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti.

Mufti had disassociated himself from the case after the counsel for the former president, Malik Tahir Mehmood, expressed reservations over him

On June 13, Mufti had replaced Additional District and Sessions Judge Wajid Ali in the case. Since 2013, Ali had been hearing the murder case.

In 2013, police had registered a case against Musharraf over his alleged involvement in the murder of Rasheed and his mother during the Lal Masjid military operation.

syed & syed | 8 years ago | Reply An unnecessary drill and waste of time of the courts. Was Parvaiz Musharaf present there. Did he order to Kill Ghazi Sahib, Abdul Rasheed and Abdul Aziz wanted to escape. Abdul Aziz flee in Burqa whereas Rasheed was not lucky and killed. The truth is that these so called Mullas created law and order situation. Government to restore order and peace carried out action and many from both sides were killed. Those who were firing from the Mosque under the command of these two Mullas be searched and prosecuted.
