ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court on Wednesday issued notices to the National Press Club (NPC) election committee chairman and others in a case pertaining to alleged rigging in its elections. Civil Judge Muhammad Abbas Shah issued notices to Election Committee Chairman Nasir Zaidi, members of the committee and several office-bearers of the Journalist Panel, including its president, and directed them to submit a reply by February 6. United Panel’s Fida Hussain Shah Sherazi through his counsel Malik Zubair and Raja Abdul Hafeez had filed a petition alleging that the recent NPC elections were marred by irregularities and that the press club’s rules were violated.
