Reviving art: TEVTA promotes Multani blue pottery

Sheikh said the TEVTA was producing skilled workforce in the field of ceramics

LAHORE: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is displaying its Multani blue pottery art (blue Kashikari) projects at the Home Gallery in DHA, Lahore, a press statement said on Sunday. It said the TEVTA would join hands with the private sector to display its products at outlets in major cities across the province. The exhibition at Home Gallery is part of its pilot project. TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh inaugurated the exhibition. He said the move would help promote blue pottery. “The joint venture will provide the TEVTA with an opportunity to introduce the ancient Multani art in Lahore,” he said. Home Gallery chief executive officer Amer Hafeez Bajwa and TEVTA Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmad Qureshi were also present. Sheikh said the TEVTA was producing skilled workforce in the field of ceramics. He said it was also upgrading its Multan institute.
