SWABI: All Teachers Association (ATA) and Malgari Ustazan lashed out at officials of the Independent Monitoring Unit (IMU) for deducting salaries and interfering in government schools’ affairs. A press release issued on Friday said a meeting between ATA and Malgari Ustazan was held at the DEO office in which the IMU officers’ recent actions were criticised as unjustified. Both organisations threatened to file a case in court against IMU officers if they continue to create hurdles for teachers. They said the IMU officials misused their power and deducted ten days salary of teachers for one day’s absence. They demanded authorities to address the issue on “war footing”. ATA and Malgari Ustazan maintain their members will continue to raise voice against the unjust behaviour of the government officials until their grievances are addressed.
