General Raheel said Pakistan was proud of its historic and current role as major troops contributor to the UN peacekeeping missions.

The media's military wing quoted the army chief saying that Pakistan, being one of the leading contributors, deployed on six UN missions despite the army’s preoccupation with ongoing fight against terrorism, including operation Zarb-e-Azb and intelligence-based operations.
The COAS also acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistani troops.
“Our troops are proving their mettle in UN peacekeeping missions,” he said.
The Ivory Coast president also paid tribute to the excellent performance of Pakistani troops.
