FAISALABAD:

Three members of a family were killed at their house in a Jhang Saddar police precinct late on Wednesday.

Saddar Station House Officer Chaudhry Khadim Hussain told The Express Tribune on Thursday that 60-year-old Nazir Ahmad, his 50-year-old wife Salamat Bibi and their 30-year-old son Muhammad Boota were asleep at their house in Makhiyana village when some unidentified men entered their house and murdered them with a sharp-edged weapon.

In the morning, some of the neighbours found the lack of activity in Ahmad’s house suspicious and called the police.

A police team visited the scene and knocked at the door.

When no one responded, the cops then scaled the wall and entered the house to find the family lying in a pool of blood in the same room.

The police have taken the bodies to the Jhang District Headquarters Hospital mortuary of for post-mortem examination.

The SHO said that Ahmad was a retired watchman of a Veterinary Hospital.

He said the murder was apparently the result of an old enmity.
