Curbing corruption: NAB to sign MoU with China’s anti-graft body

China’s National Bureau of Corruption Prevention Vice-Minister Liu Jianchao met National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairperson Qamar Zaman Chaudhry here on Monday, said a press release.

Welcoming the Liu, Chaudhry said that matters of strategic economic importance are being undertaken between the two friendly countries.

Anti-corruption work will also be given importance so as to curb corruption in the under-process and huge development projects between the two countries, Chaudhry added.

Liu was briefed about working of the NAB including its enforcement, prosecution, awareness and prevention activities.

Liu spoke about strategic partnership between the two countries and the need for future cooperation in the field of anti-corruption.

In this respect, he also showed willingness of government of China to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NAB for collaboration in anti-corruption work.

He said China’s fight against corruption includes actions against “flies” and “tigers” both.

The two sides decided to sign an MOU before the close of the year.
