LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) provincial organiser Chaudhary Sarwar said on Friday that the party had secured a strong foothold in municipal committees after winning over 15 per cent of the seats up for grabs in Thursday’s local government elections. Sarwar said party candidates had performed commendably despite the odds stacked against them. The provincial organiser said he was satisfied with their performance. “Our rivals should now start being concerned about their political future,” he said. Sarwar said the party’s performance in the subsequent general elections would leave its rivals surprised. “The PTI will continue to struggle for citizens’ rights,” he said. Sarwar said the party was emerging as a robust anti-status quo political force with the passage of every election.
