PESHAWAR:
Doctors of Lady Reading Hospital suspended the boycott of their duties for two days. However, they have threatened to go on strike again if their hostel lodging issues are not resolved. Meanwhile, the health department will submit its report on the situation on Friday (today). LRH doctors and paramedical staff clashed over hostel residency and at least eight people, including paramedics, were injured. The hospital administration asked the health department to launch an enquiry into the matter. The hostel was sealed, while the administration registered an FIR against those involved in the violence. Meanwhile, the strike has affected patients, including some awaiting surgeries. The government and LRH administration assured doctors and paramedics their grievaces would be resolved within three days and the enquiry report would be submitted on time. The doctors’ representatives reiterated that the strike was merely suspended till the submission of the enquiry report and had not been called off.
