KARACHI: An annual four-day national robotics competition 'RoboSprint-2015' was held at PAF Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (PAF-KIET) main campus, with the aim to promote interest among undergraduate students in the field of robotics.
A total of 22 teams from various institutes, universities and colleges from across the country participated in the competition. Students of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) were declared the winner in the general category, while PAF-KIET was the runner-up.

In the special category, Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering, Islamabad, won the first position and students from SSUET secured the second position. Prize money of around Rs0.6 million was distributed amongst the winners.
Meanwhile, younger students took part in the junior category competition of the event. Students from schools in Karachi, Sukkur and Khairpur displayed their skills and interest in the field of robotics.

The event was attended by professionals from the industry and a huge number of students and youth. PAF-KIET president Air Vice Marshal (retd) Tubrez Asif appreciated the innovative skills displayed by the young participants at the event.
