KARACHI:
What? Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are visiting Pakistan?!

That's how we reacted when we came across a news report claiming the Bollywood heartthrob and diva are coming to Pakistan -- on November 22 -- to promote their upcoming film Tamasha.

But, it sounded to good to be true. So we did some digging. And we are sorry to break it to you that it's not happening.

After Paris attacks, French Embassy calls off felicitation of Tamasha team

Abid Rasheed, Executive Director of IMGC -- the company distributing the movie in Pakistan -- told The Express Tribune that “these reports  are only rumors and none of this is true.” He explained that the duo will instead be joining local media in Lahore via Skype.

Deepika shares picture of her 'hotties'. Any guesses who?

“The actors would only be joining the local media for a press conference online on November 22 whereas the premiere of the film is expected to take place on November 26,” he said.

Local publications seem to have gone overboard with their coverage of the whole matter, even stating that the Bollywood actors are expected to meet notable film personalities in Pakistan. Some said several local filmmakers are expected to sign them for joint productions with India.

Ranbir or Deepika, who is a better marketing guru?

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha also features Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh who will is playing Ranbir Kapoor's father in the movie.

The film has already created a lot of hype, not only because of the Ranbir-Deepika pairing, but also for its soundtrack which has been composed by Academy Award-winning music director AR Rahman.
