SHANGLA: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah’s helicopter turned back without landing in Shangla on Wednesday owing to a fuel shortage.
Shah was visiting quake victims in the region and was accompanied by PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira. This enraged a large number of party workers and residents.
Mohammad Alam, a PPP leader, told The Express Tribune, Shah had come to visit the affected population and should have acted appropriately.
“We hoped Shah would announce a relief package for the affectees,” he said. “But he retuned without landing.”
Waqar Ahmad Khan, a PTI leader in Shangla, condemned Shah’s behaviour.
