KARACHI:

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar assured the business community on Wednesday that the newly appointed core team in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will resolve tax collection issues. He said this on his visit to the head office of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). “This is the first time the government has reshuffled the whole team in FBR. I am hopeful that the new team will take measures to resolve the issues of the business community,” he said.

Showing an apparent frustration at the performance of FBR, the government on Monday changed the whole core team, whose performance was under serious criticism from media and other segments of society. Pointing out 14% more revenue collection in the first four months (Jul-Oct) of fiscal year 2015-16, he said the government was confident that the country would achieve its Rs3.100 trillion revenue target this year.
