KARACHI:

Human rights activists and political workers held a peaceful demonstration against the Paris attacks to show solidarity with the victims of the attacks on Sunday.

The rally, titled 'We are Paris', was arranged by the Sindh Secular Forum and Sindh Civil Society Forum, Karachi, at Teen Talwar.

A large number of people participated in the rally that ended outside the French Consulate.

The participants shouted slogans against extremism and demanded the government to take stern action against organisations that support terrorism. They also arranged a candlelight vigil, expressing solidarity with the victims of the Paris attacks.

Condemning the attacks on the peaceful people of France, Javed Qazi, who led the rally, said that the major cause of such attacks was religious extremism. "We condemn these attacks and stand with the people of France," he said.
