"Twenty-two terrorists were killed today in precise aerial strikes on terrorist hideouts in remote areas of Shawal, North Wazirstan," read an ISPR statement.
An official from the ISPR confirmed the military action. However, the political administration of the area suggested that some 26 to 28 militants were killed in the air strikes conducted on Saturday.

The official further said that the air blitz were conducted against militant hideouts in the Mana and Gurbaz areas of Shawal.
Initial reports have revealed that six dens occupied by militants and two vehicles were destroyed during the operation while a number of militants have also sustained injuries.
The military action comes two days after militants attacked security personnel in the Mashaki area of South Waziristan. Lance naik Mohammad Pervez Khan was killed in the attack.
