SARGODHA:

The district administration of Sargodha has decided to complete a decades-old housing project in collaboration with private developers. A spokesman of the district administration said the Sargodha Improvement Trust had started work on Model Town, a housing scheme near Lahore Road in 1991. He said millions of rupees had been allocated for the project.  He said nearly 2,535 plots had allocated through balloting from 3,081 applications. The spokesman said most of the plot owners had not paid instalments as there had been no development or maintenance work. He said several advertisements had been published for the sale of 546 plots as well as reminders to plot holders for clearance of their dues. He said district administration had now secured permission from provincial authorities to develop the housing colony in a public-private partnership.
