Twin Cities Limits: RCB to move court to settle jurisdiction
Boundaries are clearly defined and there exists valid document (CDA Ordinance1960) to endorse this fact
ISLAMABAD:
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has decided to approach the court to settle the jurisdiction dispute between the twin cities. The RCB has requested the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to provide a final list suggesting the limits of Islamabad. The issue came to the limelight after owners of residential and commercial properties along IJP Road and areas of Golra Morr refused to deposit property tax with RCB claiming their jurisdiction falls under the purview of the CDA. “Boundaries are clearly defined and there exists valid document (CDA Ordinance1960) to endorse this fact,” said a senior CDA official. A RCB official said they execute developmental schemes in these areas but CDA collects property taxes and lease out advertisement rights to individuals.
