Busted: CTD arrests alleged militant

CTD has arrested a large number of militants who are believed to have links with banned outfits

PESHAWAR: The counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrested an alleged militant from Mattani on Tuesday. According to a handout issued by the department, he has been identified as Bakht Jamal, a resident of Akakhel area of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency. “He was wanted for various crimes, including an attack on the police in 2009,” read the statement. “Jamal has links with a banned outfit and the government had also announced Rs0.5million bounty on his head.” Jamal was shifted to undisclosed location for further interrogation. Over the past few months, CTD has arrested a large number of militants who are believed to have links with banned outfits.
