ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police have arrested three suspects after a bank manager was abducted and looted in the limits of Sihala Police Station on Friday. 

Shakeel Ahmed, the victim, told the police he was returning on foot after his office hours when three persons riding a car abducted him near Model Town Humak and took him to his house in Bahria Town Phase VII. They tied him up and made away with keys to the bank, two mobile phones and an ATM card.

Meanwhile, Ahmed managed to untie himself and called the police and Bahria Town security who managed to intercept the car. Police said the victim has identified three suspects, including the bank guard said to be the  mastermind.

Police also seized a car, three pistols and a motorcycle from them. The suspects have been booked.

Ahmed told the police the robbers withdrew Rs42,000 from his account.

Journalist abducted, looted


Meanwhile, in a similar fashion, a journalist at a private news agency was abducted and looted in the limits of Khanna police on November 5.

Naseer Qureshi, the victim, told The Express Tribune he was coming to office on motorcycle on Thursday when he was intercepted by two men in a car near Iqbal Town.

Qureshi said the suspects shoved him in their white Corolla Altis, which bore an “applied for” number plate.

The suspects snatched Rs13,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and an ATM card and dropped him near PWD Colony. Later, Qureshi found out that Rs25,000 had been withdrawn from his account.

Khanna police have registered a case but have found no clue of the suspects yet.
