A senior journalist in Charsadda has sought assistance from the provincial and federal governments to help him pay for his medical treatment.
Noorul Wahab, who is associated with Express Media Group, is suffering from a liver disease and requires a transplant. Seven years ago, Wahab was diagnosed with diabetes and later contracted hepatitis.
He has spent millions of rupees on his treatment. Recently, he was diagnosed with a liver disease and needs a costly transplant surgery.
Wahab has appealed to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Bahria Town CEO Malik Riaz to help him in his hour of need.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Charsadda Press Club President Haji Sartaj Khan said Wahab spent all his savings on his treatment.
“He cannot afford further treatment and has therefore appealed for financial assistance,” he added.
According to Haji Sartaj, Wahab, who is also senior vice president of the press club, has been working in the print and electronic media for 15 years.
