Exchange of fire: One killed, two injured in Charsadda

A case has been registered and further investigation is under way

CHARSADDA: At least one person was killed while two others, including a police constable, were injured during an exchange of fire in Mandani area of Charsadda. According to a police report, Hayat Khan and his son Waseem Khan were walking in the area when police officials manning a check post ordered them to stop. However, both men refused to comply with the orders and instead opened fire on the officials. As a result, Waseem Raza, a police constable, was injured. The police retaliated and shot both men. Hayat and Waseem were wounded and rushed to the hospital where the former succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
