Arms recovery case: Shahzain Bugti sent on judicial remand

JWP provincial president and over 20 others sent to Quetta District Jail.

The grandson of the late Nawab Akbar Bugti and Jamhoori Watan Party(JWP) chief Shahzain Bugti, along with 26 co-accused persons, was sent to prison on judicial remand by Judicial Magistrate - I Quetta on Monday.

Bugti, arrested by paramilitary forces on charges of carrying illegal arms and ammunitions, was brought to court amid strict security measures. Bail application for Bugti and 26 others has been filed in the sessions court and the hearing will take place on January 6, said advocate Vishua Nath Kohli, counsel for Bugti and the central vice president of JWP. Earlier, the anti-terrorism court transferred the case to the sessions court and said the arms recovery case filed against Bugti and 26 others did not fall under the category of anti-terrorism act, advising all concerned to approach the sessions court for remand and bail application.
