CTD arrests four suspects in Karachi

The arrested men are allegedly involved in killing nearly half a dozen MQM-H workers and attacking police mobile vans

KARACHI: The Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Wednesday to have arrested four suspects allegedly involved in a number of heinous crimes.

The suspects identified as Shoaib Hassan alias Shoaib Jamal, Makhdoom Ahmed Khan, Shahid Khan alias Preedy and Pervez Saghir were wanted for killing policemen, Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) workers as well as carrying out robberies in the city.

According to the CTD, the arrested men were allegedly involved in killing nearly half a dozen MQM-H workers and attacking police mobile vans.

Four Kalashnikovs and two pistols were also recovered from the suspects' possession.

The group of four used to operate in different localities of the metropolis, including Korangi, Zaman Town and Landhi, the law enforcers said.

Separately, three political workers were apprehended during an overnight raid by Rangers in Lines Area.

The raid was reportedly carried out at a Unit Office of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

However, the Rangers spokesperson when contacted, denied reports of the raid.
