According to the notification, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, the committee would be headed by Chief Economist of the P&D Department while the members would include Senior Chief Energy and Power Dr Idrees Masood, Chief (Infrastructure) Abdul Haleem Bangash, Chief (Economic Analysis) Qaiser Alam, Chief Industry Mian Asim, Chief (Rural Development) Islam Afridi and Assistant Chief (Education) Nadeem Ahmad.
The committee was also directed to present any recommendation for the improvement in the provincial government's special projects to PTI chief and his wife.
It is pertinent mention here that neither Imran nor Reham hold any office in the provincial government.
When asked under what rule the officials of the K-P government were asked to report to PTI chief and his wife, the department’s section officer (establishment) Faheed Ullah Khan, who had issued the notification, said, “I don’t know, but the notification has been withdrawn.”
The Department Secretary Syed Zafar Ali Shah was not available for comments over the development.
