No black flags: Parties withdraw protest planned for Imran’s visit

The district nazim stated the protest was not a political one and was announced by councillors in all three tiers

Seven political parties withdrew their call for a protest planned for the arrival of PTI Chairperson Imran Khan in Swabi ANP, JUI-F, PML-N, QWP, PPP, JI and Swabi Democratic Alliance announced they would no longer be protesting Imran’s trip to Tarakai House.


The decision was taken at a jirga with representatives from the alliance, PTI and AJIP at the Swabi district nazim’s office on Wednesday. PML-N district president Haji Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, council members Sanaulllah and Bakht Ali, PTI’s Azizullah, Salim Khan and Sarzameen, AJIP’s Muhammad Zahid Khan, Shehensha Bacha of QWP, Jamshed Khan of PPP and district councillor Amir Nawab Khan and Swabi tehsil nazim Wahid Shah were in attendance.


The district nazim stated the protest was not a political one and was announced by councillors in all three tiers of the local government.


However, the district councillors of PTI and AJIP assured the jirga that their concerns would be conveyed to Imran Khan and resolved.
