KARACHI:

Expressing concern over the lack of implementation of the national action plan, the leaders of Majils e Wahdat e Muslimeen (MWM) demanded that the government should extend the operation against terrorists throughout Sindh.

"Soon after the Shikarpur blast at Imambargah that claimed around 60 lives in January this year, the government had promised to start an operation against terrorists in rural Sindh too, but this did not happen," said MWM secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. "We have witnessed yet another massacre in Jacobabad where more than 20 people have been killed, but the government is merely issuing statements."

He was addressing a press conference in Karachi.

Abbas appealed the people of Jacobabad and its adjoining areas to come out of their homes on Muharram 20 and join their protest against the Jacobabad incident. "We are pleading for our legal and constitutional rights, but no one is willing to hear us," he said.
