This was said by PML-N Central General Secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra during a news conference held in Charsadda on Friday to discuss the long-term impact of Nawaz’s US visit.
“Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and aware of its regional and international obligations,” he said.
According to Jhagra, the PM emphasised the importance of regional peace and stability and informed US President Barack Obama about Pakistan’s efforts to peacefully coexist with India.
“PM Nawaz apprised Obama of the security situation within the region and India’s involvement in Fata and Balochistan and discussed its relations with Afghanistan,” he said. “He also briefed the US president about key updates regarding Operation Zarb-e-Azb.”
Jhagra said both leaders exchanged views on international issues and stressed for efforts for lasting peace across the globe.
“Obama and Nawaz also discussed efforts for the development and prosperity of the region and discussed several agreements in this regard,” he added.
Jhagra assured the PM’s visit would strengthen Pakistan’s image.
