Journalist Absar Alam appointed as PEMRA chairman

The appointment was made on advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

The government on Thursday appointed senior journalist Absar Alam as chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Auhtority (PEMRA).

According to Express News, the appointment was made on advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and an official notification in this regard will be issued in a day or two.

Alam, a senior career journalist, has worked with a number of media groups in Pakistan.

PEMRA is a government body established in 2002 to facilitate and regulate electronic media in the country.

Adnan Siddiqi | 9 years ago | Reply To all those bleeding hearts whose knickers are tied in a knot at this appointments - If Reham Khan can get to marry Imran Khan just because she used to conduct pro-PTI talk shows and was overtly supporting PTI on every forum, then how come Absar Alam is any different?
