The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday sealed four food outlets and fined several others for violating food regulations. The authority’s Samanabad Town team sealed Yasir Cold Corner and Tob & Fob Foods for operating without licences. The Allama Iqbal Town team sealed Safdar Samosa Corner and Dogar Restaurant in Thokar Niaz Baig for poor hygiene. A PFA team fined New Kashmir Sweets and Bakers (production unit) for poor hygiene, flies and non-availability of soap for washing utensils. The authority fined Arshad Chicken shop for poor hygiene. Most workers did not have requisite medical certificates. Pizza Delight, Abdul Rehman Cooling Centre, Bashir Cooling Centre and Punjab Food Corner were also fined. The PFA has conducted scores of raids over the past few months as legislation on food quality was strengthened.
