LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab organiser Chaudhry Sarwar has written to the provincial election commission requesting lists of Form-A which carries information regarding registered voters and transfer of voters to the NA-122 constituency after the 2013 general elections.

In a letter written to the Punjab ECP, Sarwar has requested that the party be provided all forms carrying the required data to remove doubts regarding the credibility of voters’ lists.

Sarwar said the party had received complaints from its voters that some changes had been made to voters’ lists ahead of the NA-122 by-poll. He said the alteration had deprived hundreds of PTI supporters of the opportunity to cast their vote on October 11. He said the PTI had gathered information from its voters according to which their votes had been transferred to far flung areas despite no such request having been made by them to the ECP.

The letter adds that in the wake of such complaints, as well as the PTI’s reservations regarding changes to the voters’ list, the credibility of the voters’ list was doubtful.

The party has also formed a commission led by its PP-147 candidate Shoaib Siddiqi to look into the claims of changes in voters’ lists. Sarwar has also reached out to other political parties and called an All Parties Conference to form a joint strategy on the issue.
