KARACHI: Legal proceedings at the city courts and other subordinate judiciary remained suspended on Tuesday as lawyers observed a boycott on the call of the Sindh Bar Council. The council had given a province-wide strike call against a judge of the Sindh High Court for allegedly using ‘objectionable language’ against a lawyer and its member, Qurban Ali Malano, at the SHC’s Sukkur bench. The judge also called the police to arrest the lawyer, the council stated in its press release, adding that the incident was tantamount to harassment. The courts in Karachi wore a deserted look as cases fixed for hearing could not be taken up.
