The Hindu extremist organisation is at it again, this time targeting Pakistan's biggest superstars.

Shiv Sena just can’t keep out of the news. After attacking BCCI headquarters to derail the Pakistan-India cricket series, the extremist group is now targeting Pakistani superstars Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan.

According to a report published in Emirates 24/7, the Hindu extremist organisation has vowed not to let the Fawad and Mahira promote their films in Maharashtra of which Mumbai is the capital city.

Shiv Sena calls for cancellation of Pakistani ghazal singer’s performance in Mumbai

Mahira’s debut Bollywood film Raees is set to be released on Eid next year and features India’s biggest star — Shah Rukh Khan. Fawad’s film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is currently being shot in Austria and is being directed by Karan Johar. It’s cast includes Bollywood A-listers Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma. Pakistani actor Imran Abbas also has a special appearance in the film.

“We have taken a stand not to allow any Pakistani actor, cricketer or performer to step on Maharashtra soil,” Emirates 24/7 quoted Akshay Bardapurkar, a top Shiv Sena leader as saying.

Earlier, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar had to cut short their stay in India and return to Pakistan due to threats from Shiv Sena. Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali, The Mekaal Hasan Band and Atif Aslam’s concerts have also been cancelled recently following protests by the Hindu extremists organisation.

Akram, Akhtar sent back to Pakistan over Shiv Sena threat

Bollywood megastar too has had problems with Shiv Sena. In 2013, theatre owners in Mumbai were forced to take down his posters due to pressure from the extremist organisation.

“Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave and return to what they refer to my original homeland [Pakistan],” SRK had then written in the Outlook Turning Points magazine.

its wrong to criticize and label an entire country based on the actions of a few extremist & misinformed individuals. A serious intervention needs to be put in place by both the states to resolve this before this escalates out of hand.Recommend

All Pakistani film stars and players are money hungry. They will do anything for money, even if it means performing in india despite being treated like the worst types of criminals. Lesson to be learnt here for these film stars is not to wag your tail where it is not wanted. People like Marwa Hocane go to india and London just to do chamcha giri to get movie roles. Recommend

On the first place , as a Pakistani we shouldn’t leave our country just for the sake of fame & money. The actors & acrresses went to India ( Pakistan’s great foe) should come back soon.Because such belittling threats will definately make them inferior in the eye of Indian’s people as well as Pakistan’s people. They must come back & promote Pakistan film industry.Recommend

You are funny, Shiv Sena uses ink and Taliban uses large powerful bombs or machine guns.

I am opposed to any beef ban or any physical attack on any Indian citizen for eating beef. Those indulging in physical violence against any Indian citizen for their eating habits should be prosecuted.

But the general public in India shares Shiv Sena’s sentiments against Pakistan. It doesnt make sense to play cricket with Pakistan or inviting Pakistani artists to perform. Recommend

It is indeed a matter of grave concern. Such intolerence should not happen in India, Pakistan, or anywhere in the world. Times are changing – there is no place for bigotry. Wake up, India! Remember, all the economic strengths you boast of essentially came with the support of multinational companies, who might be reluctant to invest in an intolerant country. Recommend

It is a clash between Liberals & Fanatics which exist in both countries. Surrendering to whims of these extremists is not the solution. ShivSena’s influence is restricted to Mumbai & parts of Maharashtra only. They have a right to protest but have no right to take law in their hands.
Extremists in India justify their violent actions by pointing out anti India acts of fanatic Pakistanis & vise verse. Liberals on both countries need to unite to fight this menace. Recommend
