Tehsil matters: Rs407m budget approved

Ayub Khan said the provincial government will provide funds to beautify Mardan tehsil

MARDAN: After a heated discussion between the Mardan tehsil council members from PTI and ANP, Rs407m was approved as the tehsil’s non-development budget on Monday. Tehsil nazim Haji Muhammad Ayub Khan presided over the meeting. From the annual budget of Rs407m, Rs37.7m has been allotted for the construction and maintenance of bus stands, Rs10.5m to be invested in cattle markets, Rs2.5m has been allotted for erecting signboards, Rs6m for water and much more. Apart from approving the budget, the Mardan tehsil council members urged CM Pervaiz Khattak to finalise the rules of business as soon as possible. “We will not tolerate any hindrances in the way of the welfare of our people,” Ayub Khan said. He added the provincial government will provide funds to beautify Mardan tehsil. Separate offices will be set up for the female employees of the Tehsil Municipal Authority.
