It’s no surprise that Mahira Khan is a fan of the undisputed king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. But it seems even he is just as impressed with the local actor. In a video of his interaction with the press in Edinburgh, where he had gone to receive his second honorary doctorate, the B-town badshah couldn’t stop praising Mahira, who is playing the leading lady in his upcoming film Raees.

“She’s beautiful, she’s fantastic and she has a very different style of acting,” he said. “The reason we took her in the film was [that] we wanted it to be very different as far as the leading lady was concerned. And she brings that to the table and much more,” added SRK admiringly.

The megastar said, “It’s a pleasure to work with her.” He also said the Pakistani beauty is “soft spoken, very gentle, very sweet.”  Earlier, SRK tweeted back in response to Mahira’s tweet about his picture with Kajol from Dilwale, assuring her they will look good together in Raees. Even before this exchange of tweets, SRK expressed his admiration for Mahira.

Shah Rukh Khan absolutely smitten with Mahira

When a fan asked him to describe her in one word, he chose to give an extended response. “She’s very earnest and is working extremely hard. A bit nervous too but very, very good at what she does. It’s a pleasure,” he replied.

Mahira previously shared her thoughts on Raees and her co-star with her fans on Twitter, saying, “My nerves weren’t being kind, but @iamsrk was … Got through the first scene ... #Raees.”
