There is a need for collective efforts for national progress and development. Equal development of the four federating units is essential for national prosperity, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday.


He was talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch. Matters of mutual interest, promotion of inter-provincial harmony and the political situation came under discussion at the meeting.

“People from all federating units will have to work together for elimination of poverty, unemployment and ignorance. There is a need for united efforts for progress and development of the country,” he said.



The chief minister said that all political forces should work together for national progress and development.

The Balochistan CM paid tribute to Shahbaz Sharif for the steps taken for the progress of the province. “Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also taken practical measures for the promotion of inter-provincial harmony and national unity,” he said.

Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman also called on Shahbaz Sharif.

“The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has achieved many successes. The socio-economic sector has improved considerably. The economy of the country has also grown stronger due to the government’s policies. The foreign exchange reserves are at a record high level,” he said.

Shahbaz Sharif said that all steps were also being taken for purging the country of the menace of terrorism and overcoming energy shortage. “Achieving a peaceful, bright and prosperous Pakistan is the objective of the government,” he said.

Nawaz to hold Punjab’s governance check

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said all-out measures were being taken for coping with the challenges of terrorism and shortage of energy.

He said projects worth billions of rupees for the provision of basic amenities to the common man were being completed speedily and transparently.

“Compared to 2013, the Pakistan of 2015 is more peaceful and economically strong. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is paying special attention to welfare of people as it believes in serving the masses.

New records of public service will be set during next two and a half years,” he said. The chief minister said that the people of Lahore had buried the allegations of rigging by casting their votes in favour of PML-N candidate in NA-122.

He said that the elements engaged in negative politics were not sincere to the country. “People of Pakistan fully know who is serving them selflessly and who is engaged in politics of chaos,” he said.
