Price fixing: ‘Sugarcane to be sold at Rs230 per maund’

HYDERABAD: The Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, a lobbying group of farmers, has demanded a price of Rs230 per maund for the sugarcane crop. The crushing season of the crop has begun but the sugar mill owner’s have yet to buy it. The chamber’s representatives also called for mills to purchase sugarcane before November 1. After the set date, they will urge the government to take action against the mill owners.
