The bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the statement given by the deputy attorney general (DAG), who denied having custody of the missing leader, Akash Malah.
The DAG pointed out that a commission constituted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan had been successful in finding dozens of missing persons and, in this case too, the report by the said commission would be of some help.
The bench asked the federal government to submit a copy of the report by the commission before the court and adjourned further proceedings. A day earlier, the court had also ordered the DAG to ensure attendance of two intelligence personnel but no queries were raised in this respect during the hearing on Friday.
