HARIPUR:

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has asked the government to focus on Dasu and Munda dams to help rid the country of a massive energy crisis. He blamed incumbent rulers for the prevailing law and order situation in the country. “There is no political uncertainty in the country nor is there any threat to democracy, it is the incompetency of the rulers that has left the citizens in a fix,” Liaqat said while speaking to journalists at the residence of JI Hangu district ameer Ghazan Iqbal Khan on Saturday.

Liaqat accused the government of crafting policies that are hard on the public. He said they could provide relief to the citizens but they do not. “Corruption is rampant and people have to run from pillar to post to seek justice.”  He said political leaders who claim to be champions of democracy have failed to put the country on the path of progress. “Even after over six decades, the country is dependent on international funds and is burdened by foreign debt.”
