PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter has appointed district and deputy organisers for Kohat, stated a press release issued by the party’s provincial secretariat on Friday.

“Ziaullah Khan Bangash was unanimously appointed as organiser,” read the statement. “Muhammad Arif has been named deputy organiser for Kohat.”

The appointments were made during a meeting held at the house of PTI leader Naseem Afridi in Kohat. The moot was chaired by the party’s provincial organiser, Fazal Muhammad Khan.

The appointments have been made to restructure PTI for the upcoming intra-party elections. The deputy and district organisers will hold intra-party polls in their respective districts.

Provincial organisers have visited Swat, Malakand, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Charsadda, Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Buner, Chitral, Shangla, Battagram and Nowshera to reorganise PTI at the provincial level.

“During the next phase, provincial organisers will visit other regions to appoint district and deputy organisers,” the statement added.

In the offing

In August, Fazal said the process to reorganise PTI was in full swing and a caretaker set-up would be in place so intra-party polls can be conducted.

The party’s provincial organiser said the date for the polls cannot be confirmed until district and deputy organisers are appointed. The schedule will be announced after the caretaker set-up is in place.
